Swimming in the clear waters of the Kouang Si waterfall in Luang Prabang, Laos
Q. I'm going to be in China and Korea for a school consulting project in May, but have about 12 days to travel on the back end and want to go to SE Asia for a bit. I just wanted your thoughts on how to best spend my relatively short amount of time and money.

The islands of Paihia, New Zealand
Paihia is a quaint little seaside town in the bay of island, if your looking for a thrill seeking adventure this isn't the place but if your looking for a place to relax with a beach, nice bars and plenty to do then this is ideal. It is recongnised as 'the jewel of the bay of islands' and when you're wondering around the town and the white sandy beaches you'll see why. There are plenty of back packers to stay at here all of the very reasonably priced and if you don't go in high season in the height of summer the weather will still be good but you can get accommodation much cheaper. From all the hostels in Paihia its a short wall along the sea front to the town, you'll walk past many restaurants and bars all pretty reasonably priced. And once in the town theres a supermarket, shops and similar cafes, bars and restaurants.

Jardin Zoologico de La Habana, is located in the Vedado District of Havana, Cuba
The Jardin Zoologico is a Zoo centrally located in the Vedado area of Havana, Cuba. The admission to the zoo is 3cuc, but you may be able to get in for free if it is a Cuban holiday. Don’t go expecting modern facilities or to see extremely rare animals, go because this zoo is frozen in the 60’s, and will provide a really unique zoo experience.

Several baby sea turtles making their way to the ocean
When visiting San Juan Del Sur, consider spending a night at the La Flor Sea Turtle Reserve on the Pacific Coast. Board the shuttle from the Casa El Oro at about 8 or 9pm and spend an hour driving the bumpy dirt roads through the jungle out to the reserve. When you arrive, depending on season, expect to see a handful of armed guards to protect against poachers, and a bunch of white sacks containing turtle nests. If you’re lucky, a short walk to the beach and you could be amongst a mass arival of hundreds if not thousands of turtles.

The Column of Julian sits alone in the middle of the street
If you're wondering exactly which landmark the Column of Julian is in Ankara, here it is. Not the most exciting nor historical visit in Ankara, but not out of the way either. Located In Ulus within walking distance of the Ankara Citadel, The Roman Baths, The Roman Theatre, The Temple of Augustus and Rome, The Hacı Bayram Mosque, Gençlik Park, and more, you may as well pass by. If you head from the square by the The Temple of Augustus and Rome back towards the Ulus bus stop, down the steps to your right you'll see a large gathering of buses. Look a bit further to the right and you'll see The Column of Julian sitting in the middle of a V-Intersection.

Bug Bites on the arm of a traveler in Morocco
Not going to claim that everyone will be attacked so badly by the mosquitos in Morocco, but on a recent trip I found myself with bug bites all over my body. My friend seemed to be fine, but in 1 week I accumulated more than 70 bug bites in clumps all over my arms, hands, feet, legs, and even face, anything exposed. Just a warning to those susceptible to bug bites, might want to consider bringing some mosquito repellant on your next trip to Morocco.
