See the stars over Yosemite in this timelapse video
The National Park of Yosemite has been captivating visitors for years, it's mystique and beauty can't be properly portrayed by photos or videos. From the world famous half dome, to its amazing waterfalls, to the star filled skies, Yosemite is a must visit for any visitor to California. This is one of the best Yosemite videos I've ever seen, done in timelapse it gives you a pretty good overview of the park.

The sky over El Teide, Spain by night
Found this cool timelapse video on Vimeo the other day. I had never heard of El Teide, but apparently its the tallest mountain in Spain, located on the largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife. The video is mostly of the sky but also has some nature shots and is worth watching. This is not the Spain you're used to seeing.

A really cool timelapse video set in 17 countries around the world in a year. I wish I had thought to do something like this on one of my bigger trips, it takes a lot of planning and foresight up front. Kiem did an excellent job with this video, it's well worth a watch. Only downside is he makes you want to see a bit more of some of these places.

It took me a second to figure out what was happening here, from the title I thought they were actually doing some kind of crazy underwater fishing. Instead this is just a really strange (in a good way) video of some Finnish guys horsing around in the frozen Lake Saarijärvi of Vaala, Finland. Regardless, it's really cool looking, and worth a view. Thanks to Janne the King of Finland for sending this over.

Annapurna Circuit in the Nepali Himalayas
I just stumbled upon this amazing timelapse video of the Himalayas in Nepal. Some cool shots demonstrating how quickly the weather can change, and an overall high quality video worth checking out. Filmed on the Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake in Nepal.

Espen Fadnes flying down a mountain wearing a squirrel suit in Norway
A cool video of a guy base jumping in Norway. They have all sorts of cameras strapped to him and setup around the area of the jump, as well as microphones so you get the full experience. He's also wearing a squirrel suit which allows him to control how fast and where he goes. The video runs through the jump from planning to execution and review, very cool if you're into skydiving, base jumping, or extreme sports in general.

A boy running through the cherry trees in Afghanistan
My friend sent me a link to this really cool Afghanistan video focusing on day to day life in the war torn country. I hate it when media ruins public perception of a country, and while I have yet to visit Afghanistan, I'm confident real life for most of the 34 million people living there is closer to what we see in this video. It's really well done, HD full screen this bad boy and have a look.

The shell of a crashed plane in Iceland
Found this Iceland video of the Midnight Suns recently and thought it was really cool. It's a bunch of small time lapse shots around Iceland during the summer when the sun barely goes down at all. Iceland has some gorgeous scenery, and the video is really well done.

A screen cap from the video showing Planet Earth from outer space
A time lapse video taken by Expedition 28 & 29 from the International Space Station during the months of August to October, 2011. You can clearly see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) as the station crosses over the top of the Earth. Because of the Earths constant rotation things look a bit different than we're used to on the map, it's tough to make out what countries you're looking at (when the clouds aren't hiding the ground), but I was able to identify a few regions. The person who posted this video claims they didn't do anything to edit colors or anything similar, it's strange to see the atmosphere so clearly visible, very cool.

A view of Everest and the surrounding Himalayas
There are a lot of videos out there both climber made and commercial of Everest, Everest Base Camp, and the entire Himalaya Region. I spent a lot of time searching online and these were the highlights I came up with. Sadly there has been a lot of tragedy on the mountain over the years, so some of the videos are quite sad, but there is also some amazing scenery, interesting facts, and heart warming stories portrayed in these videos. If you know of other good Everest videos please post links in the comments and I'll add them to the collection.
