Sydney isn’t complete without a trip to Bondi Beach. If it’s your first time, you may as well see all the Eastern Beaches in one shot on this 3 hour ocean walk. Start at Coogee Bay and work your way past Bronte Beach, past Tamarama, and all the way to Bondi.
Everyone has their favorite beach in Sydney, I personally think Bondi is the best, so I’d leave it for last. If you hate crowded beaches, then you may want to go the opposite direction starting in Bondi and finishing in Coogee (not that you should expect Coogee to be empty). Either way its a cool little hike. Most of the way is paved, there are some ups and downs but its not strenuous, and you get to see a lot of really cool little beaches and cliffs. If you’re interested in going for a swim you’ll have several chances along the way.
To get to either Bondi or Coogee from CBD, just hop on one of the buses that says Bondi or Coogee, if it goes there it’ll say, or you can ask the driver. A popular place to catch buses to either beach is Hyde Park, on the corner of Liverpool and Elizabeth Street. On a hot summer day expect the buses to be packed, and buy your ticket beforehand from a newstand or 7/11.
