A map showing the visa requirements for US citizens visiting countries around the world
I'm currently planning a trip to the Middle East with a friend of mine, trying to figure out which countries are both safe and easy to get into for US and Finnish citizens. He just sent me over a link to some wikipedia pages showing maps with countries highlighted in colors based on Visa requirements. I thought this was really cool and pretty useful, so here you go...

A screen cap from the video showing Planet Earth from outer space
A time lapse video taken by Expedition 28 & 29 from the International Space Station during the months of August to October, 2011. You can clearly see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) as the station crosses over the top of the Earth. Because of the Earths constant rotation things look a bit different than we're used to on the map, it's tough to make out what countries you're looking at (when the clouds aren't hiding the ground), but I was able to identify a few regions. The person who posted this video claims they didn't do anything to edit colors or anything similar, it's strange to see the atmosphere so clearly visible, very cool.

The most famous beach in Sydney, Australia, and perhaps the world, Bondi Beach
The show is about the lifeguards at Bondi Beach. Bondi is unique in that it gets many tens of thousands of visitors in just half a mile of beach, many whom are foreigners and can't swim. The currents at Bondi can be quite powerful at times, and its a sand beach, so the bottom can often be uneven, making it easy for swimmers to go from waist high water to above their head in seconds. This keeps the lifeguards busy; they also have to deal with sharks, jellyfish, a lot of drunks, thiefs, skatepark injuries, and plenty of crazy people, making it entertaining for us.

The beach in Surfers Paradise
Surfers Paradise in the Gold Coast of Australia is a city for tourists. Comprised of mostly bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels, and apartments, the city caters to all types of travelers. If you plan on visiting around November / December, know that the city tends to be taken over by schoolies - students on break who party non stop. This may not be the best time to visit if thats not what you're looking for, however, for some of you maybe it is?
