Reactor Number 4 – The Reactor which exploded in 1986
On April 25, 1986 the area surrounding Chernobyl was full of action. The following day, everything came to a halt when Chernobyl Reactor #4 blew. Millions of dollars in land and equipment were left as people simply hoped to escape with their lives. 25 years later with satellite and internet technology, we can explore the ruins of Chernobyl and its surroundings from our home computer. A view of St. Canice’s Cathedral and the Round Tower in Kilkenny, Ireland
St. Canice’s Cathedral and the 9th century Round Tower are near the center of town in Kilkenny, Ireland. While not justifying more than an few hour visit, unless you plan to attend mass, the Gothic Cathedral and Round Tower are very impressive and create an atmosphere of antiquity. There is no charge to look around the property; a cemetery that feels more like a park. I am sure stopping by the area at night would give you an entirely different feeling.
